The registration process for the Innovillage 2024 Program with the theme "5th Innovillage: Keberlanjutan Inovasi untuk Membangun Negeri" has been carried out with the number of applicants reaching 2,102 students, 389 accompanying lecturers, and 93 universities in Indonesia. Of the 719 social project proposals proposed, only 165 proposals were successful in obtaining implementation funding based on the assessment results of the reviewer team. The Instrumentation and Energy Research Community (IMERCY) team of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has succeeded in making an outstanding achievement by being selected as part of this program and receiving funding in the Innovation to Create Shared Value competition category. This decision was made by the Chief Executive of the Innovillage Program as part of the Top 165 Social Projects of the Innovillage 2024 Program.
Currently, IMERCY is carrying out the implementation of Innovillage, which began in December 2024 and will run until February 2025. Previously, IMERCY also managed to become one of the communities that received funding in the Call for Pengmas (CFP) by SDG's Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) with the project “SMART FARMING: Optimalisasi Pertanian Menggunakan Monitoring System Berbasis Tenaga Surya dan Internet of Things di Desa Plaosan.” This program has had a positive impact on the community, although it still faces obstacles in pest control.
Following up on these problems, IMERCY now presents innovative solutions in the Innovillage 2024 Program through the project “IMPACT: Implementasi Pengusir Hama dan Monitoring Tanah Berbasis Internet of Things dalam Upaya Peningkatan Produktivitas dan Kualitas Tanaman Padi di Desa Plaosan, Wonoayu, Sidoarjo.” The project is led by Haikal Farabi, with Prisma Megantoro, S.T., M.Eng. as mentor.
IMERCY Team Leader, Haikal Farabi, stated, “The pest control device we designed uses ultrasonic waves between 15 KHz - 50 KHz to repel pests such as rats and sparrows. It is portable, allowing it to be moved as needed, and is integrated with an application.” The success of IMERCY is an achievement that shows students' dedication and innovation in answering people's concerns in agriculture. It is hoped that the solutions offered can help farmers in increasing the productivity and quality of their crops.
